| If your drinking vodka or rum for the first time, don't drink more than 2 - 3 shots worth because you do not know your limit yet. If you are making mixed drinks, BE AWARE of how much you or someone else is putting into it. Other than that, most people begin drinking and continue to pound them back all night. I was on a night with my work colleaguesI must have drank a lot as I have hardly any memory of the night. I had not had any food and I was drinking wine. | I hardly know where to start. First there is always the possibility that he also added something to your drink. These days no one can really afford to get drunk or leave their drinks unguarded. It is too late to look in to that and as you say far too late to use the morning after pill. You need to go to a Sexual Health Clinic, believe me they have heard it all before, and get an STI check and a pregnancy test unless your period comes on time. If you are going out and getting drunk you need to look at this as well because if you avoided infection and pregnancy this time you may not be so lucky the next and you may really get hurt. The more I think about what your work colleague did, the more I wonder if you were set up. He clearly used and abused you. Maybe I am naive but I am not convinced the average chap would take that much advantage of a helpless drunk female. |

| Be strategic about it. Drink a shot when playing but then take a break, go to the bathroom, walk out side and have some water (not all at the same time but the point is to take a break between drinks). I have used this strategy with great success for 30 years. And, the water between drinks does a great job of reducing or eliminating you from becoming sick the next day. i always tell girls to be just a little more careful than guys when drinking (except when driving is involved when EVERYBODY should avoid it). Never lose control. Once you've lost control, you can be taken advantage of. |
| How do people get drunk from beer if the alcohol percent is only like 6% right? I just don't understand why people choose to drink beer if the alcohol percent is so low. | Depends on your weight and how often you drink. For example: I weigh about 100lbs and I drink a few times a week and 4 or 5 shots get me drunk, but I am still functional at that point. Someone at the same weight as me who doesn't drink as often as I do would be much drunker than I am at this point. However, your BAC level does not change according to how often you drink, that stays the same according to your weight. So what ever is a deadly amount of shots according to your weight will stay the same, even if your tolerance has increased. |
